While DARPA spends billions designing self-driven, hill-climbing Mars rovers, the French government asked a bunch of newly graduated hipsters to see what happens when you mate a Rotax with both a propeller and a wheel driven system on a tubular frame.
The result, Pegase, uses a para sail to take off in under 70 yards. It supposedly can reach 60 mph when wheel driven and 40 mph while in flight.
That's all nice and cute but I'm sure the opponauts have tons of suggestions for improving this design.
Might I suggest you replace the puny little rotax with a 'Busa engine or better yet, something with VTEC 'cause that thing needs to kick in!
